GreenTech anticipates the future with robotics and food safety

Amsterdam, 21 June 2022 – Robotics and contributing to global food issues were the main topics during the 5th edition of GreenTech Amsterdam. This is apparent from the public media attention that the show received, interest from the many country delegations, and the conversations with visitors and exhibitors at the show floor. GreenTech was held from 14 – 16 June at RAI Amsterdam.

A total of 10,890 professionals from 121 countries attended the trade show. The top 5 countries represented were the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium and the Netherlands. The sentiment was that GreenTech is back in business after the pandemic. This is evident from all the positive reactions the team received.

Mariska Dreschler, Director Horticulture - GreenTech Global: “We are back! I am very grateful we could organise GreenTech Amsterdam in full swing. Never before did we receive so much media attention, official country delegations, and our carefully programmed knowledge theatres were packed to the max. The network possibilities were extensive, all horticulture market leaders were under one roof, including innovators, start-ups, growers, investors and policymakers from inside and outside the industry. GreenTech is the connecting international hub for all stakeholders to act on concrete solutions for local food and flower production, based on, among others, the Dutch ecosystem. I look forward to our next event!”.

Positive reactions from visitors
Visitors emphasized that the trade show was thé place to reconnect with the industry, educational and inspirational. Some quotes:

1: Gert van Straalen (The Flavour Farm): “ I experienced GreenTech as a fair where you not only meet your suppliers at their stands, but also have many meetings with international contacts in a short period of time. After two years of COVID and mainly digital contact, it was a perfect opportunity to pick up old relationships again”.
2: Paul Stoffels (Stoffels Tomaten): “GreenTech was a particularly educational trade show for me with innovations that can be ground breaking for both my own company and the sector. This, combined with an international network and fascinating speakers, makes GreenTech a permanent fixture in my agenda for the future".
3: Karen Tamboyan (Chamber of Commerce Indonesia): “Amazing! One stop service for knowledge development and innovation in horticulture!”.

Exhibitors say
The response from exhibitors was also very positive generally, focusing on reconnecting, the platform to launch products and the excellent atmosphere:

1: Simon Foster (Biobest): “We’re proud of what we do, and GreenTech is the perfect place to showcase that. The volume of exhibitors and wide spectrum of fields and visitors are also great. The best show in the field!”.

2: Hannah Brown (Organifarms): “GreenTech was thé platform to launch our product, Berry. It is also a great place to reconnect with people from the industry. We have enjoyed it very much and are looking forward to attend the show”.

3: Jurma Schut (Dalsem): “GreenTech is the calling card as the international exhibition. We had a very positive experience up from the very start of the show. We will definitely participate again next year”.
4: Dennis van Dijk (Logiqs): “This year’s GreenTech was probably one of its best editions since it started. The new generations of entrepreneurs found its way to the market. And, although times are challenging, people shared a very positive vibe.“
