What a whirlwind it's been. What started out as another exciting year with GreenTech, turned our world upside down. The first life-changing event in 2020 was the birth of my second daughter: Meggie. She was born on the 23rd of February, and we're over the moon with her.
I never thought I'd find myself working from home, holding my newborn daughter while talking to my colleagues or sometimes even clients. But there's nothing to do other than accept what is happening outside our front doors, and do the best we can while staying inside.
Our sales department, which includes intern Shuyan and me, have spent most of our time talking to exhibitors for GreenTech Americas and GreenTech Amsterdam. We quickly had to switch from selling our last few stands for the Amsterdam show to working with a completely new date for both of our events.
For Amsterdam, we've been dealing with an extra challenge: for the new dates in October, we also had to change halls. Since the beginning of April, Shuyen and I have been working hard on finding a new location for all our exhibitors. We are still working on this daily. Our end goal, of course, having satisfied customers that join us in looking forward to an actual live event.
This new layout for GreenTech Amsterdam in October offers an excellent opportunity for a positive change. The Europa hall is officially listed as a Dutch Monumental building. An exciting place to be for visitors this October will be the brand new Hall 5. We're expanding the floor to offer a new Innovation Zone in this hall. Here we'll combine the Innovation LAB, Theatre, and Lane: The Innovation Zone. It will also showcase the Robotics Zone, Autonomous Greenhouse Zone, and the Medicinal Cannabis Pavilion, making it a real show-stopper for all attendees.
In the meantime, you may have seen that GreenTech has taken on another new adventure: GreenTech Webinar Talks. Our first live webinar took place on May 7th, and the next virtual meeting place we offer will be on the original Amsterdam dates: 8 - 9 - 10 June 2020. The entire team is changing gears. We're talking to interested companies, speakers, sponsors, and experts, about what topics would be most appreciated in the current market. If you would like to be involved, please let me know at j.knook@rai.nl
I hope to talk to you soon, and of course, I look forward to meeting you live as soon as it is possible and safe. Stay healthy and talk to you soon.
