"New greenhouse design methodologies enable growers and investors to optimize their greenhouse with respect to the Water Energy Food Nexus"

Growing population, climate change and the energy transition give new opportunities for greenhouse technology. Depending on the local circumstances it is possible to adapt the greenhouse technology to find the sweet spot in the Water Energy Food Nexus. Together with all major turn key builders, we developed SIOM, this is a simulation tool used by turn key builders to simulate the complete growing season. By doing this growers can be advised to use energy-efficient technologies, water-saving technologies or technologies to improve production. combining this with the business perspective it is possible to create your own optimal greenhouse setup, whether it is high tech or mid-tech. Because most turn key builders use SIOM a level playing field will be created, this will result in more sustainable greenhouses, with a sound business case, starting now!
